EKB server update from 31.10.18

Friends! In today's update for the EKB server, you will find a large number of changes and improvements to Stalker Online, including:

  • Work on improvement of the sound design in the game
  • Rework of firearm damage mechanics
  • Using reputation when trading with a NPC
  • Changes to some monsters' behaviour to make life easier for beginners
  • And many other changes that you can read about below.

In addition, today you can get acquainted with a new feature: in-game store. This change is introduced not only for your convenience, but also for the world of the game to remain whole, atmospheric and so that nothing prevented it from being such.

You can go to the store:

  • Through the main menu by clicking on the "Store" button,
  • Through the menu "Esc" by selecting "Store".

All purchased goods immediately go to the “Storage”, you can switch to it right in the store, and also:

  • through the main menu by clicking on the "Storage" button
  • via the "Esc" menu, selecting "Storage",
  • via any NPC storekeeper by clicking on the “Warehouse” button in the “Storage” window.
  • It is important to note that you can ONLY pick up the goods from the Storage by opening the “Storage” at the NPC storekeeper. This is done to ensure the integrity of the perception of the game world, as well as to ensure that purchases do not have a direct impact on the gameplay.

Gradually, we will withdraw the goods for the Golden Coins from the NPCs and make the store more convenient.

NPC and assignments

  • Reworked the dialogues and quests of Tatars in the Swamp
  • Made changes to the dialogues and quests Nechiporenko
  • Changed the reward for “Wild Hunt: The Finals” (those who have passed this task earlier can talk on the topic of reward with Tackleberry)
  • Changed reward for tasks to search Dersu
  • Edits to dialogues with Shtaket and other NPCs
  • Changed pricing method when items are restored to an NPC (clothing, appliances, etc.)
  • In some stores, if the character has a reputation for a particular faction or personal reputation, additional positions (goods) may be opened. When buying such products, NPCs can write off part of your reputation so that you do not abuse their trust.
  • Fixed a bug with filling the store Timokhi - from the recipes for refilling the injectors removed bandages and mushrooms. The latter are now in the recipes for creating the drugs themselves.
  • In the Vanya Ad shop, you can now find extensions of tubular stores (smooth-bore guns like Mossberg 500, SPAS-12, Benelli M4)

Store

We've added an in-game store to Stalker Online. It is possible to purchase various equipment and bulletclips, as well as to replenish the account.

  • Added Box OZK, from which you can get up to 20 costumes
  • Added AKM Box, from this box you can get AKM, AKMS and SCS
  • Added AK-74 Box, from which you can get a Kalashnikov series 1974 model
  • Added Box AK100 7.62x39, from which you can get one of the AK 100th series chambered for 7.62x39 or Saiga-12K
  • Added Box AK100 5.45x39, from which you can get one of the AK 100th series chambered for 5.45x39 or Saiga-12K
  • Added bag-case for rifles, where you can find the SVD
  • The cost of the Boxes with bulletclips is changed, now from the box with cartridges of 7.62x39 for 1400 pieces you can now get the SKS clips

Objects and game mechanics

  • Reworked monster damage. From now on, the bullets lose damage inflicted on the critical zones (all that has been said below applies exclusively to them), based on the value of their penetration. This leads to the fact that ammunition with low penetrating effect significantly reduces this damage, and at high penetration loss of damage will be quite insignificant.
  • Also, ammunition began to vary in the degree of increase of this damage. For example, an armor-piercing 5.45x39mm will cause less damage in the same critical zone than 7.62x54mm R.
  • The presence of cells under the device is now directly determined by wearing garments. So, for example, pants and a jacket are given one cell at a time, and if, under the character, only underwear is worn, he will not be able to equip either a knife or MPA.
  • Alcohol (toxic) renamed to Methyl alcohol.
  • In the drawings and recipes added display of the product obtained through this recipe (previously the product was not mentioned at all).
  • Artifacts have changed their value. Now buyers are willing to pay more for rare artifacts, and the artifacts of greater distribution they have become less interesting.
  • The appearance of the artifacts "Vesuvius" and "Explorer" has become even more unpredictable
  • Restored the ability to disassemble items of clothing
  • Now, when using sets for stapling on garments, they may require items, as was the case previously.
  • Optical sight POSP 8x42 can now be used
  • Premium account is now an item that can be activated at will during the game

Animation and character

  • Reworked position of the camera from the 1st person (now it is placed lower)

Surroundings and locations

  • Added sounds of using bandages, injections, throwing stones, damage to the character
  • Changed parameters of hearing sounds of weapons
  • Corrected the sounds of movement of the character (steps, jump, touchdown)
  • Added local sounds in different places of the game world (Base Sunset, anomaly on Novaya Zemlya, abandoned houses in Lyubech, etc.)
  • Changed the location and behavior of dogs, puppies and rats on the location of Lyubech
  • Changed the location and behavior of the outcast at the location of Liubech Neighborhood
  • The position of the safe zone (including the spawn zone) and the fire at the entrance to the cave (leading to Paukan) in the vicinity of Lyubech has been changed
  • Fixed crossing between the islands on the Caravan

Other

  • Made a large number of edits to the software part of the game.
  • Added the ability to move character status windows (health, stamina, etc.) and effects
  • Removed chat messages about damage from bleeding and poisoning
  • Dogs now do not push the character when attacking. This option has been disabled due to numerous complaints that dogs have become almost the most dangerous inhabitants of the Zone. They often attack in packs, fairly nimble and painfully bite. For the poorly armed and inexperienced stalker, they themselves pose a great danger. Thanks to their ability to repel when attacking, they could completely disorient themselves in space, which made their attack almost always deadly for a novice.
